Nature and Outdoors - Skiing Holidays in the Transilvanian Alps

       Do you still have a break after the New Year's Eve? Or have you been working when everyone else was celebrating the comingof the New Year? Then you have a second chance to celebrate! Just after the new Year's Eve, throughout January and February, we offer you a skiing holiday in the Transilvanian Alps.
Some facts you may find useful regarding this tour:
- Altitude of the resort: 1020 m.
- Altitude of the slopes: 1020m - 1700m (approximately).
- Ascent: ski lifts on the most important slopes.
- Difficulty: from Beginners to very experienced skiers.
- Snow: Natural snow usually between mid-December until end of February. Artificial snow can be produced on one slope, should there be no or little natural snow.
- Facilities: Skiing Equipment rental possible on a supplementary cost.

1st Day: Arrival & Transfer to Poiana Brasov
Arrival on Bucharest's Otopeni International Airport. Meeting with our guide and transfer to Poiana Brasov, the most popular skiing resort Romania's. There, we shall be welcomed with a traditional meal and Romanian folk songs in Sura Dacilor (The Dacians' Inn).
Accommodation: in the best Hotel in Poiana Brasov for the whole period
2nd Day: Rasnov and Bran
Today we shall discover the area. We shall hear the details about the German Saxons living in Transylvania, visit one of their peasant's boroughs they have built there, Rasnov. After that, we shall visit the Castle of Bran, supposedly the home of Dracula. The castle was built in 1377 as a castle of the customs on the trading route between Transylvania and Wallachia, enlarged and restored a few times since then. The connections between this place and Vlad the Impaler Dracula is still under debate, but the castle is definitely worth a visit. In the late afternoon, we will get acquainted with the resort. Who has not brought the equipment, it is time to hire it. You will also receive your ski-pass for the next few days. Dinner at the hotel.
3rd - 6th Day: Skiing down the slopes
Enjoy four days of skiing in the rich snow of the Romanian Carpathians, with some tricks and tips from your ski monitor. The less experienced have now a chance to practice their skiing with the ski monitor. Dinner will be at the hotel, except for day 6, when we shall celebrate the end of our skiing part of the holiday at the Coliba Haiducilor (The Outlaws' Inn).
7th Day: Brasov
The morning is at your leisure. You have the chance to have a last encounter on your account with the slopes in Poiana Brasov. In the early afternoon, departure for Brasov, where we shall visit the Saxon town with its Romanian part. In the evening, a farewell dinner in Brasov. Return to Poiana Brasov for overnight.
8th Day: Departure
Time to say good-bye! Transfer to Bucharest's Otopeni International Airport.
