1^st Day, 28^th December: Arrival & transfer to Sinaia
Individual arrival on the Bucharest Otopeni Internetional Airport. Guided transfer to the mountain resort of Sinaia, the summer residence of the Romanian Kings of the Hohenzollern-Siegmaringen Dynasty. Once the famous Orient Express use to regularly call here and it still does once a year on its way from Paris to Constantinople. While touring Sinaia, we shall have the opportunity to have a look at the Casino, inspired by the one in Monte Carlo. Accommodation and dinner in the best hotel in Sinaia
2^nd Day, 29^th December: Sinaia - Târgu Mureş
Morning departure for Târgu Mureş. Visiting en route Braşov (sightseeing tour), a Saxon city. Further to Sighişoara, also a Saxon town, presently one of the few still inhabited medieval citadels. Further, to Târgu Mureş, a town inhabited by Romanians and Hungarians in nearly equal numbers. Accomodation and dinner until day 5, included, in the best Hotel in Târgu Mureş.
3^rd Day, 30^th December: Day excursion to Sovata, Praid and Corund
A full-day excursion leads us to one of the most important resort Romania's for bathing cures, Sovata,with interesting phenomenons. As the region is rich in salt, that is very near to the surface, which explains the salinity of the lakes.
In Praid, where in the former salt mine, a small chapel has been built. We shall have the opportunity to attend a folclore show and learn some Hungarian folk dances of the area. In Corund, the ceramics and wooden chairs are particularly nice.
4^th Day, 31^st December: New Year's Eve
Today we shall discover the town, and its Library, The Teleki Library, founded around 1800 by the Earl of Teleki. Afternoon free at leisure, until evening, when all our guests are invited to the Gala Dinner.
5^th Day, 1^st January: Free at leisure
Time to relax and have a walk by yourself through Targu Mures.
6^th Day, 2^nd January: Traditions in the Transilvanian villages
Today we shall have a closer look at the New Year's traditions of the Romanians living in Transilvania. For a better look, we shall drive to Sibiel, a small village laid apart from the rest of the world in the middle of a mountaineous landscape. Accommodation and dinner in the best Hotel in Sibiu.
7^th Day, 3^rd January: Sibiu – Curtea de Arges – Bucharest
Returning to Bucharest, we shall visit the Princiary Cathedral at Curtea de Arges. Further drive to Bucharest. Accommodation and dinner in the best hotel in Bucharest.
8^th Day, 4^th January: Bucharest & transfer to the Airport
Guided tour of Romania's capital city. Transfer to the Airport.
