Tours and Events - Halloween Party by the Princes Road

Hallowween - by the Commercial Road connecting Transylvania with Valahia

Originally a Celtic event - they used to celebrate New Year on the 1st November, right after finishing the autumn harvest, when animals were sacrified and men were dressing in their skins - these are probably the ancestors of Halloween costumes. It was a party that also delimited autumn from winter. In the 6ht century, the Pope tried to Christianize the event, so a new feast came into being - All Saints' Day, or in medieval English, All Hallows' Day. The evening before was called All Hallows' Eve and later Halloween.

A fun celebration of the Day, not far from the very Castle of Count Dracula.
